Hicks Road, Crosby

New build consisting of 5 apartments and 3 houses with associated external works

Client: Urban Develop
Contract: Design and Build
Value: £1.2m
Duration: 50 weeks

OVERVIEW

The size, orientation and location of the site largely dictated the positioning of the proposed buildings. The primary frontage was seen as Park Road, which allowed us to reflect the scale and architecture of the large Victorian villas and town houses opposite. The new houses will add back active frontage to this part of Park Road.

The proposed properties are set back from Park Road, to protect the street scene and allow parking areas to the frontages. These parking areas are broken down as much as possible with planters and small landscape structures. Existing boundary walls will be enhanced to retain a protected edge to the
development. The corner plot 1, will have an extended front garden so that the corner is softened.

Plots 2 and 3 have their driveways and front doors off Park Road in a traditional town house set up. Plot 4 which contains the apartments, has a similar architecture with its parking also along Park Road. Access to
the apartments would be via a gated side entrance providing a secure and discrete access point, whilst maintaining the Town house architecture.
